CHICAGO (WSYX/WTTE) -- McDonald's is auctioning off a jewel-encrusted, 18-karat gold shamrock shake cup to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the shamrock shake.

The cup, appraised at $90,000, is being auctioned on eBay for Charity from Feb. 25 to March 6 starting at $1. As of Tuesday afternoon, bids have already reached over $22,000.

Proceeds from the auction will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Not able to bid thousands of dollars on eBay? McDonald's has a second cup that one lucky shamrock shake-loving winner will get to take home.

According to a release from the company, starting Feb. 25, "fans who purchase a Shamrock Shake or an OREO Shamrock McFlurry via Mobile Order & Pay in the McDonald’s App through March 6 will automatically be entered to win the lucky, one-of-a-kind piece."

See here for details.

The shamrock shake cups took a team of jewelers over 140 hours to create. Each cup features 150 diamonds, precious stones and 18-karat gold valued at $90,000.
