FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (SBG) — Firefighters went the extra mile to help an 80-year-old Army veteran who became overheated while doing some yard work in the Florida heat.
The Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department says a crew that was dispatched for a "pass out" arrived on the scene and treated the 80-year-old for heat exhaustion. Once the Army veteran had cooled down, the firefighters took it upon themselves to go above and beyond and finished mowing his grass.
"Once his medical emergency was over the crew stepped in and finish cutting his grass! This is truly what it is all about," the staff at the Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue wrote in part on Facebook.
The heartwarming video was posted on the fire department's Facebook page.
